We look forward to welcoming Arielle Krule as our new Director of Holistic and Spiritual Support Services.
Educational Alliance’s Center for Recovery and Wellness (CRW) proudly announces the appointment of Arielle Krule as the Director of Holistic and Spiritual Support Services. In this role, Arielle will lead the charge in developing a vibrant spiritual community for individuals in recovery, grounded in Jewish tradition but open to all.
Krule brings a wealth of experience and passion to her new position. As a clinical social worker, Jewish educator, and founder of Selah, a community-based organization that infuses Torah study with contemporary culture and the recovery process, Krule has dedicated herself to empowering individuals on their journey towards wellness. She is currently enrolled in a rabbinical program for Modern Orthodox women at Yeshivat Maharat, where she is poised to become a pioneering leader in the field of spiritual recovery.
“We are honored to join the Center for Recovery and Wellness at Educational Alliance as its in-house spiritual and holistic wellness support,†shared Krule. “At Selah, we envision a world in which Jewish tradition is a vehicle and modality of healing and an opportunity for sacred community. We look forward to being part of a network of dynamic, transformative community centers that foster opportunities for New Yorkers of all backgrounds to flourish.â€
Krule joins Educational Alliance with her colleagues, Jeremy Pool and Benjamin Litchman, who are experienced recovery professionals. Together they are working to build a vibrant community of people in recovery and people who love them, grounded in Jewish tradition. This partnership represents a unique approach to recovery and the pursuit of wellness, building a supportive community that integrates recovery principles, Jewish tradition, and community-engagement.
CRW Executive Director Robert Anderson states, “We are very enthusiastic to provide additional forms of outreach and engagement during these trying times of continued opioid overdoses and a need for holistic, comprehensive approaches in our communities. With Selah, we have integrated an approach to meet the needs of the overall community in terms of spiritual awareness, which is historically connected to lasting recovery and looking at that connection through a lens of traditional values and spiritual support.â€
Krule’s innovative approach to recovery blends traditional Jewish teachings with modern perspectives, providing a unique opportunity for individuals to connect with their spirituality in a meaningful way. As part of her vision for CRW, Arielle will lead The Age of Momentum: A Purim Experience, the inaugural collaboration between Selah and the Educational Alliance, on Sunday, March 24 at 11:00am at the 14th Street Y. This festive event will feature a Purim brunch, celebrating the joy and resilience of the recovery community. The Purim celebration is the debut of the partnership and an open opportunity for all those in recovery (and those who love them) to come out and join a supportive community.
“We’re excited to welcome Arielle and launch this groundbreaking initiative at CRW,†said Rich Baum, President and CEO of Educational Alliance. “By integrating Jewish values, along with holistic and spiritual support services into our recovery program, we’re providing New Yorkers with a comprehensive approach that addresses their unique needs and empowers them to live dynamic and supported lives beyond addiction.”
