At Educational Alliance, we harness the power of community engagement. Civic participation allows New Yorkers to improve their own communities. We believe in partnership, not patronage, and we strive to empower Educational Alliance constituents by providing opportunities to increase civic knowledge and organize around issues that are important to the communities we serve.
We support the civic engagement of our diverse community through direct instruction and by providing space for discussions around civic issues that are important to the people we serve. Our We the People initiative against hate promotes inclusiveness and the protection of vulnerable populations—including immigrants, Muslims, Jews and LGBTQ+ youth served by Educational Alliance—from hateful and divisive rhetoric that has spiked in the wake of the 2016 presidential election.
