THE RECOVERY QUILT
The Center for Recovery and Wellness is developing a Recovery Quilt that will travel to multiple Educational Alliance sites. Each panel is made by a member of our community, honoring someone who has been lost to addiction. We hope that the quilt grows at each location and each venue will host moments for their community to create panels of their own.
According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, In 2017, more than 47,000 Americans died as a result of an opioid overdose, including prescription opioids, heroin, and illicitly manufactured fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid. That same year, an estimated 1.7 million people in the United States suffered from substance use disorders related to prescription opioid pain relievers, and 652,000 suffered from a heroin use disorder (not mutually exclusive).
Please join us in celebrating these artists, their journey of healing and welcome them as part of our community.
