How our afterschool programs help kids flourish
Afterschool programs are often treated as ‘just’ childcare.
They do matter tremendously from that perspective, but truth is they’re also much more than that.
They are where kids can grow in some of the most profound ways: interpersonal relationships, intellectual exploration, self-assurance, and more.
If there’s one word that describes Educational Alliance’s afterschool programs, it’s this: flourishing.
At our afterschool programs, kids can grow into the people they are meant to be.
A prime example is the musical theater instruction that has been run at Educational Alliance by Ms. Atonia for the last 15 years. These kids start with small dance performances and work their way up to full scale productions of popular musicals like Lion King and Matilda.
Thanks to Ms. Atonia, thousands of children have learned the joy of theater and, in the process, have developed tenacity and poise, as well as their capacity for artistic collaboration.
