JANET WEINBERG COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FUND
As Educational Alliance’s Executive Vice President, Janet Weinberg believed deeply in the power of community organizing. In addition to her impactful work at Educational Alliance, Janet spent many years advocating for people with disabilities, those living with HIV/AIDS, and for the LGBTQ community. She knew that authentic partnership was the most effective way to help people take advantage of opportunities and overcome struggles.
The Janet Weinberg Community Engagement Fund builds on that core belief and honors Janet’s lifetime of community activism. This fund will connect traditionally marginalized populations on the Lower East Side of Manhattan to the tools and resources they need to advocate for their communities and engage in the civic life of New York City. By supporting mentorships, professional development, trainings in community organizing, and other initiatives, the Janet Weinberg Community Engagement Fund will also empower a new generation of grassroots leaders in Lower Manhattan.
Please consider making a donation to the Fund in honor of Janet’s legacy. You may also add a note to our virtual donor wall below by entering it into the comment box in the donation form. All donors also have the option of making an anonymous gift.
Thank you, in advance, for your generosity and support!
